The Master

We painted our room today....aaaand it took the whole day. We did ceilings, trim and color AND clean-up AND a trip to Lowe's in between there somewhere. But we feel very accomplished and are glad to say that we no longer have periwinkle walls. Let's refresh your memory as to what it looked like before. These are of when the previous owner was still living here:

And here are some progress photos:

And the finished product:

So now all we need is:
  1. New bedroom furniture from Ikea
  2. A new sink, vanity, light fixture and faucet
  3. And other things...

Color...finally!

Grant and I finished up the living room/dining room area yesterday! That's it. Here are some pics:

We made a mess.

We really like the color; it turned out great! We're still in the process of hanging pictures and such. I would like to get a lamp stand for by the window and more picture frames. I'm sure that's just an on-going thing that comes with owning a house though.

PAINT!

Grant and I had everything planned out to move and start painting the first week in our new house; and that didn't happen. But today we finally started!!! My awesome cousins Eric and Joel Heflin, of Heflin Painting, were gracious enough to jump start the process by doing all the things we didn't want to do like the ceilings and trim of our dining/living room. Tomorrow we'll buy our "color paint" and get going! Here are some progress photos:

Please note the difference in color of the crown molding. Gross.

We're so excited about tomorrow and will post more pics ASAP!

Mega Desk

I'm still overwhelmed with the amount of things I need to sort through in the attic. We've shoved everything we don't want to deal with currently out of sight and will probably get to it on my maternity leave this fall....let's be real. One thing I DON'T want hidden though is my sewing stuff. I didn't quite know where to put it so we though it might be a good idea to convert the office into an office/hobby room but didn't have a sufficient work space. So we've created MEGA DESK! Okay, it's really not that impressive. We bought two dorm room sized desks at Target and put them side-by-side. I really like it though! There's still a lot of organizing to do but it's a start.

We still need some more storage and such but that will come later.
